Changmin and Junsu stared at each other, their jaws taut and their bodies stiff. It looked like they were going to have a go at each other right then and there. Junsu turned towards Jae Joong and Yunho who were seated in the front of the van, eyes sharp and fiery with anger.
“What the hell is this?!” Junsu demanded and gave Changmin a sideways look.
“Wait, wait… Before you guys lose your sockets, just relax for a second and let us explain!” Yunho screamed as Junsu pulled him out of the driver’s seat.
“We’re doing this for your own good!” Yoochun heard Jae Joong say. Yoochun slowly moved to the very back of the van and started cowering. Those two were the last people on earth that he wanted to meet. Not to mention, they both seemed to be in foul moods at the moment.
“What do you mean for our own good?!” Junsu was obviously upset. “I didn’t sign up for this!”
Changmin, who was silent the whole time Junsu was lashing out finally, said something. “I didn’t sign up for this either… I’m leaving…” he turned on his heel and was walking towards his car when Jae Joong skillfully jumped out of the van and grabbed him by the arm and yanked him back.
“Okay… We knew that this wasn’t going to go down too well with either of you…” Jae began and shot Junsu an apologetic look.
“Gee, ya think?!” the sarcasm was thick in Junsu’s voice.
“But…” Jae continued. “We need to do this…” he paused. It looked as if he was trying to find the right words to say next. He took a deep breath and looked at Junsu and Changmin with a worried expression. “We… Heard about you little altercation at school…”
Yoochun’s ears perked up and he began to listen. Junsu and Changmin had a fight? Yoochun was still in the van watching the drama unfold. Junsu and Changmin had bruises on their faces.
“That’s none of your business…” Changmin yanked his arm away from Jae Joong.
Jae Joong narrowed his eyes at Changmin and let out a sigh. “Actually it is…” he said. “It just kills us to see our juniors fighting…”
Yunho shook his head and smiled. Jae Joong sounded too much like a doting mother trying to get her kids to kiss and make up again. He cleared his throat and exited the van. “Anyway… What Jae’s trying to say is that we know the both of you… You guys are like little brothers to us… And we know how close you two are…”
Changmin hiked up his backpack on his shoulders and said, “So, what exactly is all of this all about?”
“It is an intervention…” Yunho answered and leaned on the door.
“We figured that maybe getting the both of you to come on this trip will help you kiss and make up…” Jae smiled.
Changmin frowned and rolled his eyes. “As if we’d ever do that…”
***
Somehow or another, Jae Joong managed to convince Changmin and Junsu to go along with it. Junsu and Changmin reluctantly walked towards the van, defeated and confused. And when Junsu opened the door to the van and found Yoochun sitting there he stopped and so did Changmin, the both of them felt even more confused.
Yoochun gave a small bow and a worried half-smile, but Changmin didn’t pay him any attention. Instead, he completely ignored Yoochun and took a seat at the front, beside the window. Yoochun lowered his head and let out a small sigh. Clearly Changmin was pissed at him.
Junsu was still too much in shock to move. He never expected Yoochun to be going on the trip. He glanced at Changmin, who was busy frowning at whatever it was that was outside his window, then at Yoochun. The both of them seemed to be fighting. Was It because of him? And that night?
“Oi! Are we going or what?” Yunho snapped from the front. Junsu quickly got into the car and took a seat behind Changmin, far from Yoochun. He let out a small sigh and stole a look at Yoochun, sitting alone at the back.
It was clearly going to be a very long drive.

Hyung Joon straightened his necktie, as he examined his reflection for the umpteenth time on the elevator doors. He was nervous, as he was on his way to meet his father, or rather stepfather. There was no real reason to the visit, but it was necessary to implement the first step of his plan. He needed his father to entrust to him the duty of convincing Changmin to go ahead with the marriage. Although, he hadn’t worked out the rest of his plan as of yet, he needed to at least take the first step.
The elevator soon came to a halt and the doors slid open. Hyung Joon stepped out and found himself in the higher floor offices. They had a different feel to those on the lower floors; higher ceilings, brighter lights and a more reserved atmosphere. It was as if it wasn’t an office.
Hyung Joon let out a small breath to calm himself, it felt heavy and made his heart beat faster than it already was. He never liked meeting his stepfather; he was too serious for his liking. He treated Hyung Joon differently from Changmin. And he knew why. But it was also too be expected, since he is the CEO of a multimillion dollar company. He needed to be all business.
As Hyung Joon approached his father’s office, he smiled to the secretary, who bowed instinctively before taking the receiver to inform her boss. It was a rehearsed routine.
“Ah, Hyung Joon…” greeted his father, as Hyung Joon entered the office. He was facing the view outside his office window before he turned to look at his son. He had his hands behind his back and a serious expression on his face.
“Good afternoon, sir…” Hyung Joon bowed.
“Have you heard from Changmin by any chance?” he turned to face Hyung Joon, hands still behind his back.
Hyung Joon shook his head. “No, sir… Not recently…”
The expression on his father’s face tightened. “I see…” he said. “Please, sit…” he said and indicated the velvet cushioned seats. Hyung Joon did so and sat there in silence, before saying anything else.
“Sir… Changmin is the reason I came to see you…” Hyung Joon explained.
His father turned around and faced the view again. “Is that so?” the tone of his voice seemed indifferent, but Hyung Joon could tell from his straightened back that he was interested and that he was listening.
“I think I can be of some assistance…” Hyung Joon continued.
“There is no need for that… I already have a plan in motion…” he said. “All there is now, is to wait…”
Hyung Joon’s jaw tightened. Did he already send the video to Changmin? If he did, the lack of a response on Changmin’s part would mean that he still hadn’t seen the video. There might still be a chance.
“Sir? What do you mean?” Hyung Joon played dumb.
There was a loud knock on the door and both he and his father turned to look who it was. At the doorway stood two men in dark suits, they bowed to his stepfather and greeted him.
“Sir, we have just received news that your son-” he paused and looked at Hyung Joon before bowing. “That is… Changmin. He is out of town. He has gone on a trip with his friends. We also have reason to believe that he still has not seen the video.”
“Video? What video?” Hyung Joon asked. The two men straightened themselves as their boss turned around to face them. He gave his subordinates a stern look and dismissed them. “Sir?” Hyung Joon began as the door clicked closed.
His father let out a sigh and took a seat behind his desk. He considered Hyung Joon with a piercing gaze. “Since you have already heard too much… I think it would be best to just tell you…” he said and took out an envelope from his desk.
Hyung Joon immediately knew what it was. It was the master copy of the video. It was the leverage they were using against Changmin.
“Sir? What is that?” Hyung Joon continued with his charade.
“It is what will get Changmin to say yes to the proposal…” he explained. “However, as you have heard, he still has not seen it.”
Hyung Joon tried hard to hold back a smile. It was his chance. “Maybe I can be of some assistance?”

It was late afternoon by the time the boys arrived at the pear estate. The estate was large and the lights casted by the setting sun gave a certain romantic ambience to it. The boys stretched and yawned as they got out of the van. 5 hours non-stop driving could take a toll on your body, and theirs was already stiffening with cramps and locked ligaments.
“Yunho-ah!” greeted a man dressed in work clothes. He had farming gloves on and a straw hat, which gave one a typical stereotyped image of a farmer. Yoochun smiled at the thought. In fact, even in the semi-darkness the boys could tell that he was very tanned. “Welcome! Welcome! How was your trip? I hope you boys have built up a good appetite!”
“Ajusshi!” greeted Yunho, equally as enthusiastic. “We had a great trip! And yes we’re very hungry…Aren’t we guys?!” Yunho turned to the other excitedly.
“Yeaaa…” they answered half-heartedly. They were still trying to stretch out the cramps from their bodies. Yunho and the uncle, whom they were ordered to call Mr.Yang, continued conversing in what seemed like a local accent; a thick local accent, which neither of them understood.
“Do you understand what they’re saying?” Yoochun asked Jae Joong.
Jae Joong smiled and laughed nervously. “Not a clue…”
“What do you think they’re saying?” Yoochun asked again.
“They’re probably discussing how to transport our dismembered body parts into China… After all…” Junsu looked at Yoochun with an evil glint in his eye. “Not all of us can be sex slaves…” he said and gave Yoochun a once over. Yoochun’s jaw dropped.
Jae Joong smacked Junsu across the head. “Shut up… Don’t talk nonsense…” he hissed.
“Okay, guys!” Yunho said as he walked towards them. “Mr. Yang is going to show us to our rooms while we wait for the food to be done…”
“Awesome!” cheered Jae Joong as he followed Yunho towards the houses.
“Finally! A bed!” Yoochun exclaimed.
“I bet they’re feeding us to fatten us up…” Junsu said, before smirking at Yoochun and walking up after Jae Joong and Changmin. Yoochun’s eyes widened and his jaw dropped further.
“Stop that!” he yelled after Junsu.
Junsu laughed and smiled at Yoochun. They were the only ones left still walking up the path towards the houses. It was silent and a little awkward as neither knew what else to say. Junsu suddenly felt a light tug on his jacket sleeve. He turned around and saw Yoochun looking up at him.
When their eyes met, Yoochun quickly turned away and pulled his hand away from his sleeve. “Uh…” he began. “Are you still mad?” he asked.
“No…” Junsu answered, making Yoochun look up hopefully at him. But Junsu wasn’t smiling. He had a dark look on his face, which made Yoochun feel like Junsu was going to kill him.
“Junsu?”
“I’m not angry at you…” Junsu repeated and turned his back towards Yoochun. “But I won’t forgive you…” he said and continued to walk, leaving Yoochun behind.

“Well this is shit…” said Changmin, when he saw the rooms.
Nobody said anything, but it was clear from the looks on their faces that they were thinking the same thing. The rooms were right beside each other; however, both rooms differed greatly from one another. One was a small and only big enough to fit two people at one time, while the other was slightly more spacious and it looked like it could fit 4 people quite comfortably, although three people was the ideal.
It was clear which room was the favored one.
“Err… Yunho…” went Jae Joong.
Yunho seemed to be in deep thought. He had his brow furrowed and his hand was rubbing his chin.
“You know…” he said. “We could make things more interesting…”
Changmin glared at him. “Could you focus for a second? We need to decide who sleeps where…”
“I’m not sharing a room with this bastard…” Junsu said and shot Changmin a sideway glance. Changmin returned his glance with a sharp glare.
“As if I wanna be stuck in the same room as you…” he said.
Jae Joong shot Yunho a look. The atmosphere was getting a little tense and awkward. Nevertheless, Yunho continued as if he did not hear them.
“Let’s have a match… “ Yunho smiled mischievously. “To decide who gets which room… “
Jae Joong raised an eyebrow. “Is that really necessary?”
“I don’t think any of us have the energy for games, hyung…” Yoochun added.
Yunho continued as if he was oblivious. “And to make it even more interesting, the 3 losers will sleep in the small room!” he smiled, satisfied with his idea.
“Dude… Are you even listening to what were saying?” Junsu asked.
“3?!” Yoochun exclaimed in surprise. “Why 3?!”
“Well… To make things interesting… “ Yunho flashed a triumphant smile. “And besides… I don’t want to sleep in a crowded room…”
Changmin narrowed his eyes at Yunho. “Someone seems confident…”
Yunho smirked. “Seems like I’m not the only one too…” he said.
“Okay… You guys are scaring me…” Junsu said and shook his head in disapproval. Yoochun still had his mouth open and Jae Joong just let out a sigh, as if he knew that there was no talking Yunho out of it. And he was right… There wasn’t any way to talk him out of it.
“It’s decided!” Yunho exclaimed.

An hour and a half, a wrestling match, a race and 3 rounds of arm wrestling later, the winners and losers have been decided. Changmin, Yoochun and Junsu stared disbelievingly at the makeshift scoreboard scribbled into the dirt. The three of them respectively scored 1-2 points lower than their two seniors. Neither of them could believe this cruel twist of fate.
“This is so unfair!” Junsu whined. “How the fuck do you expect us to win against two athletes?!”
“Junsu… You do realize you’re an athlete too right? You play football…” Jae Joong pointed out, although it didn’t seem to matter to Junsu, who escaped into his little ball to whine and complain to himself. Yoochun watched as Junsu began to scribble curses and drawing little depictions of Yunho and Jae Joong having their heads kicked off by him in the dirt. It was somewhat adorable and disturbing at the same time. Yoochun smiled to himself.
Changmin on the other hand focused his disappointment and rage in a different way. He preferred to keep it all bottled in, so that his exterior made it look like he didn’t give a fuck. But Yoochun knew him well enough to know that he was actually a softie.
Yoochun looked away and bit his lip. He was still confused. Leaving Changmin did not make a difference. Not to him, nor to Changmin. There was a painful throb in his chest as he thought about it. Was that night nothing to him? Was he that insignificant? Was he not worth Changmin’s time?
“SO!” came a loud shout from Yunho, which snapped Yoochun out of his thoughts. “Since we ‘ve decided the winners,” Yunho paused and wrapped an arm around Jae Joong. “and the losers…” he smiled cheekily at the others. “Let’s go up and unpack shall we?”
Yoochun suddenly felt a heavy feeling drift over him and he also felt his spirit fly out of his body. Jae Joong and Yunho had won fair and square and now… the three of them had to squeeze into that small room. He was so not ready for this.
***
“You’ve got to be kidding me…” Junsu said as he lay down the bed covers on the floor. “We can’t all fit in here!”
“I refuse to sleep here…” Changmin said with a hint of finality in his voice, but of course it didn’t matter to Yunho, who completely ignored him.
Yoochun silently put down his bags and looked around at the room. There was definitely no way he could sleep in the same room as those two.
‘Maybe I could beg Jae and Yunho to let me sleep in their room…’ he thought to himself. ‘I don’t want to be alone in the same room with them…’
Immediately dirty thoughts started to drift across his head and he let out a silent scream.
‘Somebody please help me… T_T’
***
It was seriously cramped in the room. The three of them had to sleep back to back otherwise there would be no place for anyone to sleep. They were positioned so close to each other in fact, that they could hear each other breathing. Yoochun’s persistent begging went on from dinner till it was time to go to bed, but still Yunho refused to let him share a room with them.
“You’ve got to accept the consequences like a man, Yoochun…” he said and waved goodnight at him while closing the bedroom door.
Yoochun sniffed to himself sadly. ‘Yunho-hyung, how could you be so mean??’
It was uncomfortably crowded and hot in that small room and Yoochun found himself wide awake. A small bead of sweat trickled down Yoochun’s forehead as he lay in between the two sleeping figures of Junsu and Changmin. If he had to sleep like this for a week, how could he survive?
Junsu was asleep on his left side while Changmin was on his right. Neither of them wanted to sleep next to each other, so Yoochun had to be their makeshift divider. And it wasn’t like he volunteered for the job either. Yoochun was, with immense difficulty, lying face up on his back, watching the ceiling. He didn’t want his back to face either of them. He felt too vulnerable. Of course it wasn’t like his current position made him feel safe either, but at least he knew where both of their hands were.
“Mmmm…” there was a soft moan from his right side, where Changmin lay asleep. Yoochun froze and snapped his eyes closed as Changmin shifted his position and put a leg up onto Yoochun’s thigh. It was hot, but it became hotter still as Changmin didn’t move. And it also felt like there was something hard poking into Yoochun’s thigh, which he chose to ignore. It wasn’t until moments later, when Changmin grinded slowly on Yoochun that he realized what it is.
He gasped, shot his eyes open and turned to look at Changmin. But instead of being asleep, Changmin was just lying there next to him with his eyes wide open and clouded. Just like that night.
“Shhh…”
